Most Awesome World Fusion Band in the Land!
If you haven't heard the sounds of Animus then you MUST before the secret gets out.
Bill Koutsouros is one of the most under the radar, over the top writer, arranger, musical artist's on the scene today.
Seeing this band will mesmerize and transport you to another place and time, using past rhythms and future sounds, to deliver you to a spontanious, organic, arrival to fun and fantasy.
They have a great time, and freely share it with you. Joe Tayoun's drumming is a AWESOME and the contrast from Elliott Levin's flute and Baratone Sax is a perfect blend for an atmosphere that is rare and intense. Bass Player Jay Mintz fills the space with panache and sets the stage for Bill Koutsouros's wild ride on the Oud, Bouzouki, or electric guitar. Don't be surprised to see ather members or guest artists arrive as this band fills the stage, Your GURANTEED a passport the to best Jam'n World

Animus--go see!
Animus is a great fusion band. They have a distinct preference for Middle Eastern sounds, with Greek and Middle Eastern instruments, as well as flute! Animus brings a unique sound to Philadelphia, and are becoming more and more popular. - Kara , posted 05/12/05

Animus at the Fringe
The last few years, one of my favorite parts of the Fringe is when Animus closes the cabaret on the last night of the Fringe.
The music is amazing... It becomes a tangible being you can feel, see, and taste as it moves you to rhythms that envelopes your mind, body, and soul. - Me , posted 12/25/04

dance to middle eastern music
When Animus plays, you want to dance. Half the hall joined in the Hora as Animus played their entrancing rhythms. Some bellydanced. - Christel , posted 12/25/04

amazingly eclectic
This band is quite versatile. I've seen them play quite a few times and I'm amazed every time. They have a way of offering their sound to a wide range of listeners from middle eastern sounds to a rockin' sound! If you get the chance to see these guys live, please do so! You won't be disappointed.
I can't wait to see the DVD from the Showcase Underground show at the Five Spot in Philly. - Lina , posted 12/24/04

Animus is Superb!
These folks are really good, and their performances are well worth attending many times, as each contains quite excellent improvisation within the delightful and intriguing music of Bill Koutsouros. You'll see and hear some true virtuoso playing! I hope Animus will win the recording contest and free studio time -- they'll do something fabulous with it! - Anne , posted 12/24/04

YOU MUST SEE THIS BAND
I was a volunteer firefighter in oregon in 2000 and walked past a bagel shop where animus was playing. I hate bagel shops but was forecefully compelled to enter and i didnt leave until the band had finished. Acouple CD's later and im still addicted!!! This band is the tops on my list of Road trip discs and soon they will be on yours. If you love quality music then you have to love animus. Show your support and help them win some much needed (and deserved) studio time!!!! - Jesse , posted 12/23/04
