Many people stated they were skeptical about the restaurant beacuse of the name. I say don't let it fool ya. THe food is great and at the price it should be. It is great for a dinner date or a business dinner. - Tomika , posted 05/18/05 |

Starr is known for his exquisite restaurants. They capture an ambiance which is imparted to guests as soon as you step in the door. That said, I don't expect the best cuisine when I check out his new creations. Buddakan shocked me! It's beautiful, the service is good AND the food is good. The Chilean sea bass is one of the best that I've tasted. Definitely worth a visit! - Jaie , posted 05/16/05 |

save your money and just go to a good chinese restaurant! Plus they have a very weird buddha statue, the head's too small for the body. - Gurly , posted 05/11/05 |

Buddakan has always been at the top of my list to take out of town guests. The atmosphere and decor is sure to impress anyone! Make sure to reserve early as trying to get in on a Saturday night could require 1 or 2 months in advance. For an appetizer we had the Chicken and Ginger dumplings which were excellent. My two personal favorite entrees are the broiled Japanes black cod.. The miso glaze is just the perfect touch to this delicate fish. The Char Grilled aged beef is perfect for meat lovers. For dessert get the Chocolate Bento Box to share. It is a great assortment of chocolate desserts and everyone is sure to find something they like in this bento box. They also have some great cocktails -- Buddalini and the Zen-gria are worth a try. - Jennifer , posted 04/27/05 |

Excellent service and great food. It can become nosier as the night progresses. A great place to have dinner with friends. If you want a quiet dinner you have to be seated by 6pm. - Troy , posted 04/22/05 |

Great vibe and awesome food. The menu is beyond inventive and is always cleverly served. I have to admit the angry lobster is by far the best ever. The chocolate bento box for dessert is perfect for sharing with friends. Reservations a must. - Elle , posted 04/20/05 |

Buddakan is at the top of my list for special occasions - when you want something out of the ordinary. The decor is awesome - there is a giant gold buddha enthroned in red next to a long black laquered table AND a wall full of little candle flames and a waterfall. The food is great and there are some good vegetarian selections. - Catherine , posted 04/20/05 |

One of my favorite restaurants in Philly. Best described as Asian-fusion, and friends of mine who are vegetarians frequent it as well. Try the Angry Lobster - awesome. Incredible desserts as well. 325 Chestnut St. Old City area. - liz , posted 10/09/04 |
