Right On South Street
After a busy day, I love to collect my thoughts here over a good margarita (they're heavy on the alcohol). I recommend ordering the "Three Caballeros" with extra salsa on the side. It gets pretty crowded here at nights so unless that doesn't bother you, the best time to go is during lunch. The only drawback to the place is that its eating area is not smoke free. - Natasha , posted 05/27/05

Great Appletini's!
Pretty much what the other reviewers have said...
it is a small place and often has a wait for a table on the weekends, but the atmosphere is a lot of fun.
One of my favorite features of the place was how the served your martini or margarita drink... it is mixed up at the bar in a shaker as usual, but the server brings you a glass AND the shaker, then pours it for you table side, and leaves the rest of the still half full shaker to refill your drink as you go... I usually get 2 ½ glasses full out of one drink purchase - definitely more then worth the price, esp. for South Street. I had an appletini which was definitely done right and plenty strong.
The food was very good tex-mex and American mixed. For apps. we shared some of their wonderful loaded cheese fries and a bread dish (which i can not remember the name of), but which was a toasted garlic sticks with hot melted cheese on it type-of thing - very good! I had the fish sandwich which was large, crispy and very filling and my friends had burgers with all sorts of unusual and yummy looking toppings. The burgers were cooked just right and served hot (another unusual plus for a South Street restaurant). The service was friendly and attentive, but the kitchen was a little slow... probably very busy because of the full house when we went. Overall, very enjoyable and would definitely go back again (especially for those drinks... yum!). - zebrianna , posted 05/15/05

Crowded, Noisy, Fun
Copa has great unpretentious food at a decent price, as well as killer margaritas. They do wonderful burgers (my favorite is the Acapulco burger with salsa and guacamole). It does get really crowded in the evenings, so if you want a table right away go a bit earlier, especially on weekends. - Unsubscribed , posted 05/14/05

Ooh... Spanish Fries
Great place to dip inside for food and drinks. Big burgers. Famous for their margaritas and Spanish fries, which are awesome. There's also a Copa Too in Center City, and a new one in Northeast Philly. - Greg , posted 05/10/05

Great Happy Hour...
Cheap drinks for happy hour. After that - just request something fufy. The bartenders are good at that - and it's a lot of fun. I can't even remember all the odd concoctions we tried - but those drinks were great! Oh...and the food was good too! - Roxie , posted 04/20/05

great tex mex on south street
Copabanana has such a great menu, it keeps me coming back over and over. Their burgers, chicken or cheesesteaks have great choices in toppings. Their spanish or italian fries are amazing. Best margaritas and other drinks too... Great place to hang out at the bar or sit down and have dinner. Sit by the window and have a great view for people watching on south street. - Unsubscribed , posted 10/08/04
