Very nice
I went for the 1st time last night (friday). This place looks really good. I enjoyed drinking my Mojita and watching the awfully bad salsa dancing from the 2nd floor. Last night was so crowded that my friend and I could barely walk around. Plus, on the dancefloor it was commonplace to be bumped into or stepped on. - Natasha , posted 10/01/05

Cuban Soul in Olde City
By far one of my favorite salsa hangouts because of the atmosphere, especially in the summertime when the storefront is open to the street creating an open-market ambiance. The mojitos are definitely worth the $8 you pay for them, and the food is consistently done well although the menu could be a little more creative. - Unsubscribed , posted 07/28/05

Wish the food was as good as the atmosphere...
Love the whole Cuban theme but I really wish the food had a bit more flavor. The plaintains are really good though and so is the warm bread they serve with cinnamon butter. The dancing is somewhat entertaining but not very authentic. - Vicki , posted 05/16/05

Cool decor, decent food
I have been to cuba libre a couple times. The first time I went with a large group, the waitress dropped 5 mojitos down my back and all over the person next to me. They were apologenic, said they would comp my meal and never did. Another set of mojitos arrived and were actually quite good, after a couple more I had forgotten why my back was still wet. The food finally arrived and was decent but nothing spectacular....and also on the expensive side. I've definately had better cuban food in miami but it wasnt bad. On weekends (not sure which days) they have live salsa dancing which is cool to watch. - Unsubscribed , posted 05/15/05

Decor and Atmosphere are Excellent..
The decor, the atmosphere, the drinks are all excellent. The food could use a little more work and is not too authentic. - Jennifer , posted 05/10/05

Fun atmosphere, decent food
Cuba Libre is a Cuban themed (duh) restaurant in Old City. If haven't had one of their mojiotos yet, go there and throw down your $8 for one now.

The food doesn't quite live up to the hype of the restaurant, but it's definitely decent. My experience has been good or better. - Ben , posted 04/25/05

Excellent drinks
Very nice place if you're into some salsa dancing. They hire dancers to come in and dance and then they give lessons to whoever wants them. Great drinks as well. The atmosphre is so good it's like I was hanging out in castro's back yard. - Nuclear J , posted 04/24/05

Cuba Libre
The food could be better but the drinks and setting are perfect. There is also Salsa dancing as they close the bottom floor to diners to create a dance floor. - Troy , posted 04/22/05

Cuban Food With Style
As soon as you walk into Cuba Libre, you know it will be good. The resaurant's decor resembles a Havana street scene circa 1940. The menu combines beef, chicken, pork and seafood with exotic fruits, root vegetables, herbs and spices. But don't forget to try some of the drinks on the extensive menu. They are a treat for all. - Maria , posted 12/03/04

Wonderful brunch...
While Cuba Libre is a great place for lunch or dinner, brunch is my favorite there. The torrejas is to die for - french toast filled with mascarpone cheese. The waffles filled with mango are outstanding. Try the cafe cuba libre - yummy coffee with coconut steamed milk. Great atmosphere as well. 10 S Second St. Old City. - liz , posted 10/09/04
