Some places have food or wine. But really aren't you going for the art? This is a great way to check out some new artwork. Downside -- ok it can get really crowded when the weather is nice. - Randy , posted 05/02/05

Open Galleries Meet the Artists
First Fridays in Old City is where to go to browse through all of the many galleries that make up this arts section of Philadelphia.

Visit www.oldcity.org/ocaanew/group.html for a listing of the galleries in Old City, or grab a City Paper or Philadelphia Weekly and read about the monthly exhibits.

On First Fridays you will fnid galleries bustling with people from the close of work about 5:30-6 til about 9-9:30. Some galleries offer wine or beer and munchies. You may also find street performers or musicians to entertaih you.
