I am a Philly lifer and think this LOCAL favorite page should be for LOCAL BANDS like Kate Dovelyn Band who are a real part of what is happening in Philly. (What's up with the hometown pages of our touring neighbors?) Everly is one of Philly's homegrown local finest on the drums, and Bean's a fine Pennsylvania specimen. Listen kids, I am not one to judge a band on their appearances, i would like to think that the music they play is the most important thing to a listener....but after seeing Brian Pitonik's ass, I don't think that there is another album I will ever have to listen to again. I will never forget the Kate Dovelyn band. Because of them I now lead a different and drug free life . Manly due to Brian and Kate...they're music has changed the person in inside the person inside me, or something like that. And they're music has even inspired the starving people in Haiti...now they starve with smiles on their faces. Saw the band perform a stripped down set at World Cafe Live, and I have to say - Kate is incredible! Great voice, filled with raw emotion of blues, the fury of rock and the soul of R&B. Last night at the World Cafe Live, the weather outside was wet and cold but inside the atmosphere was very hot when Kate Dovelyn took the stage to perform her accoustical set. After seeing her the week before with her full band I expected a more mellow and less energetic version of this talented singer. I couldnt have been more wrong.
