This restaurant has two personalities: the weekday lunchtime crowd of Penn and Drexel staff and profs and some (usually older) students, and the evening and weekend crowd of the barely-21 set looking to get drunk. The food is okay at lunchtime, but it was better a few years ago. (The nachos are still okay, but everything else has slipped in quality.) This makes me think that they're focusing on the drinking set. That's a shame, because there aren't any other sit-down Mexican options for lunch on campus these days. - Liz , posted 05/15/05 |

I'm a server at Mad Mex, so I should know! The food is freshly prepared, the margaritas are strong, and the waitstaff is fun! We have drink specials weekdays 4:30-6:30 and every night from 10-midnight. Half price food is students Mon-Thurs 2-4 and everyone, every night 11pm-1am.Remember that half price food does not mean half price tips!!! : ) - Kristi , posted 04/30/05 |

Mad Mex is great for an inexpensive bite. I recommend ordering a bunch of appetizers...the burritos are good, but they have too much rice as opposed to other fillings. The shrimp & fun-guy taquitos are good light fare & only $5.50. The margaritas are FABULOUS. If you're looking to get rip-roaring drunk, have 2. Or 3. I like Mad Mex a lot. It's sometimes crowded with the college crowd, but I try to avoid key bar times. I'm a vegan vegetarian and they have soy cheese and sour cream. But it's got lots of other options for the meat eaters too. The food is yummy. - Melanie , posted 04/22/05 |

Every Monday to Thursday from 2pm - 4pm sutdents eat at Half Price when they show their student ID. The menu is also half price every night from 11pm to 1am. One meal is enough to make you full and sleepy afterwards (yum). I always bring a friend with me and our total bill would come up to $10. - Jatu , posted 10/06/04 |
