sit outside
at the 20th & Market location. Dark inside (not a bad thing), but the outdoor plaza is oh so nice in the spring/summer. Good drinks, good food, good lookin people, and if you work right upstairs, well, ya can't escape it. - ben , posted 05/16/05

Thanks God for Marathon
I always have great times and great meal at all Marathon locations. When I lived downtown, I had no problem eating there 3 meals a day. I am so happy that they are there. - Mo , posted 04/01/05

Friendly but Flawed
The newest incarnation of the ubiquitous Center City staple drips of high modernism, exuding the style of a Rouge or a Bleu - with the price and selection of a one-star michelin cafe.

As the only diner that serves Honest Tea and boasts a good recipe for matzo ball soup, I've been a frequent patron of this small chain for about two years.

In general, the upmarket mentality works, with the essentially green waitstaff the chief exception to the rule.

If you're looking to stuff your face after a flick at the Bridge, then by all means give this branch a try. Otherwise, head over to their Center City locations for a matching menu - and unmatched service.

worst burger and fries
I thought I was going to have a good burger when I walked into marathon grill. The ~10 or so they are charging for a 8oz burger is a bit pricey. Since I am from the South we know good burgers. However as soon as I took a bite out of a Marathon Grill burger, I knew it was a stinker. The bread was terrible, the meat was overcooked and slide backwards when I tried to take a bite. The meat was a bit thin and the charred flavor overtook any seasoning they may have put on it. The lettuce wasnt crisp and fresh. Even the fries served were soggy. All in all a terrible meal. - Ben , posted 10/09/04

Delicious and Well-Priced
I have eaten here several times now and the food is always delicious. They have locations all over philly but I've only been to the one on 16th and Sansom. The environment is friendly and the food has gotten Best of Philly several times. - Laura , posted 10/06/04
