Years ago, when Olive Garden first opened, we went there a few times. We eventually nicknamed it "The Salt Lick". Good god, is the food salty! It's gross. This is like Applebee's with tomato sauce. I'd never go back to one; the food is badly prepared, and it NOT Italian! Go to a real Italian restaurant, taste some real Italian food (and some real Italian bread, not the salt-covered Pop-'n-Fresh they try to pass off). - Bill , posted 11/28/05 |

Standing in line at the Olive Garden? Another sign that the end is near. This is the kind of place where people where their best bowling shirts. But seriously, it isn't that bad of a place--if you're 16 and on your first date. - Lee , posted 11/26/05 |

I don't really see how people enjoy going here. The food just isn't that good. It's want to be authentic Italian. The last time I went, the salad was soggy. I just hope it wasn't recycled or anything. - sean , posted 10/10/05 |

Isn't that like recommending a McDonald's? - Unsubscribed , posted 06/20/05 |

To me the Olive garden food is Italain "want to be food". It may look like Italian food but to me it's missing the taste. The only time I'll eat there is for lunch for the soup and bread sticks. I don't understand why people stand in line for the food. - Sammy , posted 06/03/05 |

With the Italian Market nearby, why? Isn't Philly's starch and grease good enough for you? - Rachel , posted 05/17/05 |

IF YOU'RE ITALIAN , CHANCES ARE YOU HAVE HAD BETTER FOOD. FOOD IS HIGH IN FAT AND EXCESSIVELY SALTY . I AM ALWAYS AMAZED THAT PEOPLE ACTUALLY WAIT IN LINE TO EAT HERE. - CATHERINE , posted 05/17/05 |

Well, the soup is ok, the salad is fine, but it goes downhill from there. For good Itaslian food you would do better to get something frozen from the Whole Foods supermarket in the same shopping center--if you want someone else to clean up the dishes and to have booze served, well there are many other places up and down 309 that will do a better job. It's quite uncomfortable watching the waitstaff make sure they hit all the points that corporate has demanded they cover in an attempt to build the check. Honestly the food here must be frozen--buy some frozen food yourself and save the bucks. Real italian food is available not to far away, and south Philly is just 30 minutes down the road! - Unsubscribed , posted 05/09/05 |

Olive Garden has very reliable food, though Italian purists will often claim that it's not "really Italian." The Tour of Italy is a favorite of mine, and I love their fettuchini alfredo. I am not a fan of their chicken alfredo however, the chicken was very poor quality. Also, the wait is atrocius, but it's well worth it to get those yummy breadsticks. - Joia , posted 04/23/05 |

Its rare that I go to a city and not go to their Olive Garden so the one on Walnut st was one of my first places going in Philly. I have been there also for a good cocktail just to sit at the bar , which is really nice and cozy. Its always going to be an old favorite - sandy , posted 04/20/05 |

The only bad thing is waiting. We've been to two Olive Gardens and they were both very good. Love the bottomless bowl of salad! Try the peach ice tea. Their grilled chicken dishes are reminiscent of the summertime. - Unsubscribed , posted 12/21/04 |

The Olive Garden is perfect place for a date if you run out of ideas or other plans fall through. The food is awesome and the prices are not outrageous. Plus, their salad and breadsticks are amazing. - Thomas , posted 12/18/04 |

I love This Olive Garden!! Its so great... the facility is beautiful and they have different settings like a home style dinning room setting and romantic dinner for two settings. But they do charge 18% gratuity for parties of 5 or more - Lydia , posted 10/06/04 |
