I love that phrase of Septa's, and I think it encapsulates Septa pretty well. While the service may not be as thick and often as some like, if you want to get somewhere within the veins of the Regional rail lines, Septa can probobly get you within a mile of your destination. Sure, it may take 2 hours and you can only do it between 5 AM and 12:30 AM and you might have to transfer from a subway to a train to a bus... or, the craziest thing I've heard is taking a regional line into center city only to go out again on a different line, like trying to get from Paoli to Media. So septa ... it'll get you there... and they're getting better... the trolley's are coming back. FINALLY! - Martilias , posted 05/29/06 |

SEPTA NEEDS TO BE PRIVITIZED.IT IS AS CORRUPT AS PHILLY IS!IT ALSO NEEDS TO REROUTE SERVICE TO REFLECT CURRENT POPULATION TRENDS NOT THOSE OF 40 YRS AGO.ALSO SEPTA WORKERS NEED TO LEARN RESPECT FOR THE RIDES! I MOVED TO NJ BUSES ARE KEPT BETTER HERE BUT ROUTE STRUCTURE ALMOST MAKES SEPTA LOOK OK ITS SO POOR! - BEATRICE , posted 12/31/05 |

Septa, i used to love you, but now I am forced to wait for the R8. Why must you run only every hour and a half on Sundady? Why must you have the last train at 11:30 on Friday when I want to go out drinking? Septa, I hate to say this, but you've forced me to look at buying a car :( - Zac , posted 06/06/05 |

SEPTA sucks. You can barely get anywhere reliably. It is always late, the speakers in the station don't work. They charge to much and they want to raise the rates higher? Give me a break. I also don't like that it costs so much if you don't ahve a token. Tokens are so hard to get int he city unless you go into the subways which are so inconveniet. The subways are pretty desolate and feel unsafe even at 2 in the afternoon - Sofia , posted 05/17/05 |

NYC's the best, Chicago rocks, DC's cool, SF Bay gets it done, and Atlanta's cool as long as you wanna go where they go. But if you think Philly sucks, try Houston, Dallas, LA, St. Louis, Denver, Cleveland, Boston, Phoenix, etc., etc. Philly's ... okay. - dextly , posted 05/04/05 |

Just because people need your HORRIBLE Service, you think you can get away with everything. Well I'm getting my license and so are many many others. We will drive and you will go bankrupt!!! - Avy , posted 12/29/04 |

SEPTA gives horrible service, the trains/busses are never on time, and it is very poorly run. But, it is better than driving. - Newt , posted 12/19/04 |

Although SEPTA is not always on time, I would gladly take it rather then parking my car on the street at Temple's Main Campus. I know many fellow commuters who have had their cars broken into. SEPTA allows me to study, read, or just relax on my way to school. I don't have to worry about traffic or parking. Even though its not always on time, I still think its a pretty good public transit system. - Thomas , posted 12/18/04 |

I know that SEPTA bashing is a popular past time here, and I'll be the first to admit that they have their problems. Still, it is easily the 3rd best mass transit in the country after NYC and Chicago and I think it gives Chicago a run for it's money in coverage of train service. Sure it doesn't serve the fashionable neighborhoods, but if those people wanted to use it they would move closer to SEPTA. - Justin , posted 10/08/04 |

SEPTA is the most efficient, inexpensive, reliable, comprehensive, and cutting-edge public transportation system in this country. They are always right on time, and their facilities are well maintained. They provide enough service to get from an point to any point in the city and beyond without any hassles. umm... okay fine, but it's better than driving. - Eitan , posted 10/07/04 |
