Late Night in the City
Silk City Diner is a great place to catch some late night grub. You'll run into all kinds of people, coming from shows, parties, or just there for the scene. The food is of higher quality than the normal diner, and there is a nice selection for vegetarians. The place is a Philly standby, and is a must visit for those who spend some time in the city. - d , posted 05/17/05

the music, the slow kitchen and the waitresses, especially mary .. she'll ask if you want her to butter your toast and if you want onions in your homefries .. she's a doll!! - , posted 05/17/05

great late night diner
I've only eaten here between the hours of 2 and 6 a.m. and it's been good every time. (Of course, at that time of night, what food isn't good?) It's just the kind of place you need at that hour: no nonsense food and a staff/clientele that doesn't care who walks in. - Unsubscribed , posted 05/11/05

Honest diner food
For a nice diner with great waitstaff, and a nice selecion of different foods it can't be beat.

The place is a diner, albeit a good one, so do not expect gourmet food, but hey its real food served by real people in a real place.

Always worth a shot! - Unsubscribed , posted 05/09/05

silk city diner
hands down best brunch spot in town! always has a good selection of specials that tempt me...even though i usually have my heart set on the huevos rancheros. a classic jukebox spins your favorite mostly motown hits. open 24 hours on the weekend, its the best spot for beer battered onion rings, sweet potato fries or pierogies at 3am. i also live for the chocolate bread pudding. warm, please...with fresh whipped cream. monster-sized cakes abound. so many choices. - smartie , posted 05/07/05

best diner in the city
This diner is always on point. You get a great meal for cheap. The food comes fast, the waitstaff is nice, and they have a jukebox! Try their yummy homemade milkshakes. - Kristi , posted 04/30/05

Bitter Sweet. And sweet again!
This place is in my top five in Philadelphia. It's not the service, it's not the food, it's not even the atmosphere. What gives this diner it's charm is the attitude of the clientele. As I saw in one post "super hippsters" would best descibe it. The diner also doubles as a fun and relaxed night club as well. - Nuclear J , posted 04/24/05

Love Love Love
You gotta love Silk City, it's everything a dinner needs to be, the food is well prepared, the coffee hot and the location is so convenient, none of the usual parking hassles found everywhere else - saul , posted 04/21/05

How can you not love Silk City?
Yes, this place may be filled with super hipsters, but it is always a good faithful spot to get a cup of joe and scrambled eggs at anytime of day. The staff are sweet and the I love the jukebox machines on the table, makes me feel oldschool! Hands down one of the greatest staples in Philly! - Summer , posted 04/20/05

My City Diner
Near campus, near center city, old jukebox with juke stations at the table, attached bar, and plenty of counter space - need I say more?

Even after a recent menu change and slight price increase, this is still my favorite weekend joint (get there early). French toast and Eggs Benedict are worth trying, but best is a grilled cheese sandwich with the brown gravy on it (you gotta' ask) - mmmmmmmm - glenn , posted 10/11/04
