This Is Like 100 Times Better than Armageddon!
I confess, I was not a Transformers kid back in the day. And I further confess that, when I first heard that there was going to be a movie of the Transformers with a big budget and a huge director, I really didn't give a damn.

But then I saw a trailer for it.

Woohoo! I was excited, and The Transformers movie was on my list of movies to see, and see it I did. I saw it somewhat on accident, but I saw it, and I really enjoyed it. I think I would say that this is THE BEST movie based on a line of toys I have seen.

It had some cheese, it was heavy on CGI and the plot had holes, but the movie was downright fun. The visuals were, of course, the star of the show, but the story was right for the movie. There were some predictable one-liners, and a lot of humor aimed at teens (or possible even younger targets) but it was also able to poke fun at itself and its star director.

I am sure that some fans from the old days will be disappointed or angry, but this movie is actually worth seeing--for pure entertainment purposes. You CAN find some food for thought, but don't expect this film to fulfil ay great philosophical voids.

And, yes, it is better than Armageddon. - Faust , posted 07/13/07

Totally radical 1980s childhood flashback
Orson Welles took a break from schilling for Mrs Pauls fishsticks, and letting children ski down his back, in order to voice the most powerful character of his career. Then he died. More than meets the eye... indeed. - Unsubscribed , posted 11/26/05
