lee has found the best place for vietnamese. congrats.
it's pronounced fuh?-seh-luh-ah? (the question mark means you have to end the sound like a question).

literally: pho train. (pho is a type of noodle, and also a name of noodle dish).

loosely, it means "train station pho", a descriptive term not unlike "philly steaks". in viet nam, food vendors line the streets and train/bus stations. they, often, have the best food.

second to this restaurant, i would recommend viet huong, down by washington and 11th (in the mini-mall across from the u-haul). good stuff there too: get the caramelized catfish cooked in clay pot. - will , posted 04/04/07

Best Viet Thai food in the City, In China Town
This restaurant is called Pho Xe Lua (I just call it Ting's after the owner, plus I can't pronounce all that)
It is on 907 Race St. Phila Pa 19107 B/w 9th & 10th on Race. You can get stuffed here for $10. Full bar. Good juices, Spring Rolls, Satay Beef, Pad Thai, Salt baked Shrimp, Whole barbecued Eel. Soups are awesome. They do carry out but no delivery. Phone 215-627-8883. - , posted 06/26/06
