beautiful, peaceful
This park is great! Lots of trees and it's hard to believe you are still in Philly. there are are places for the kids to feed the ducks and to sit by the water and fish. You can also bike, run, hike or take a leisurely stroll. - Sofia , posted 05/17/05

Most fabulous place in the city
You can get lost in the trails, and completely forget your in the city. It's a great hiking work out or just take a liesurly stroll on the main trail. There's horse back riders, bikers, even a huge indian statue if you're willing to go hiking through the trails to find it. I can't wait for the weather to get better so I can hit the harder trails again.

Plus grab a great brunch at the Valley Green which is situated at the main entrance. - Mary , posted 03/10/05

Enjoy nature close to the city
Are you tired of urban scenery? The Wissahickon trail is an excellent place to stroll along the river and admire the beauty of nature. It?s also great to have a nice and calm bike ride or to hike. It?s amazing how being so close to the city one feels connected with nature in such a calm and beautiful place. I would not recommend this trail for serious cyclists looking for a place to train, there?s a bunch of people and little kids just enjoying the place, however there?s a lot of serious runners training around. This trail is not paved and I wouldn?t advise taking a road bike even though it is possible to ride without much complication. - Monch , posted 10/09/04
