Overpriced food....Amazing music
Although, a dinner there can run well over $100, The music, ambiance and people are fabulous. In fact, the last time we went we ended up sharing a table with Strangers and having a great dinner with people we met as we walked in. - Mary , posted 03/10/05

One of the best
Zanzibar Blue is such a nice place. If you go Monday-Thursday, there only a $5 cover charge. We usually just order dessert and drinks if we are low on money because dinner can run around $100 for two people. But, the food is great and so is the atmosphere, everything you'd expect for a premier jazz club, dark lighting, cozy booths, and great music. - Sarah , posted 10/08/04

Jazzy
I went with my wife and some friends to Zanzibar Blue during restaurant week and we enjoyed ourselves there. This place is (to my knowledge) the highest-profile jazz club in Philadelphia--the acts that play here include world-renowned artists that would play the Village Vanguard or Birdland in New York, as well as high-quality local artists like the ones we saw that night. The booths had enough room for the four of us (wasn't cramped like a previous jazz restaurant experience). The food was good - New American/Southern, and the entertainment was superb. This place is definitely out of my usual price range, but it will certainly deliver if you're looking for a fun, lively, cultured evening. - Y. A. , posted 10/07/04
