A pit, but a cozy one great for live music
Very interesting place. Still has the peepholes in the bathroom from the vaudeville days, with pinups of vaudeville stars inside. Great venue for live music -- I've been there dozens of times, and while it doesn't have as many great acts as 10 yrs ago (before the Electric Factory), it's still a great place to see a show. Parking (garage only) in Chinatown is plentiful. Tons of places to eat. All in all, a great experience and great place to see a band. - Scott , posted 05/18/05

Rock and Roll Hole of Fame
The Troc gets the harder rock shows usually over TLA, but they are similar types of venues. Great place to see a band and drink some beer. Never had a bad time here in over 15 years. - Wilhelm , posted 05/11/05

Absolute Best Place To See A Show
Because it's sort of small it's much easier to get up front during shows if that's your thing, but you can see really well from almost everywhere. Plus if you don't care for the band, you can hang out in the bar upstairs (which has really nice bathrooms btw!) - Unsubscribed , posted 04/22/05

Best place to see a show
I'd much rather see a show there than the TLA or Electric Factory. The sounds great, the beers are colder than the TLA and most seats in the house are good! - Mary , posted 03/10/05

Absolute Best place to see live music
Located right in China Town the "Troc" is the best place to see bands. Its small so no matter where you are you will always be able to see the band well. It used to be an old movie theater so the place has a nice feel to it. If a band you like is playing at the "troc" or even if you don't know the band it worth it to go. - Marta , posted 12/12/04

Great music venue
The troc features great local musicians and MAny many of the hottest and latest acts. this old theatre still plays movies on Mondays for only 3 dollars. it's a medium sized venue...seating upstairs for those who want to relax and get some drinks. those who want to get up close to the musicians can stay downstairs. - doris , posted 10/13/04
